HOUSTON — Quality Bakery Products (QBP), a producer of artisanal baked goods and fillings, announced a gradual yet complete transition to natural, clean-label color alternatives, accompanied by a switch to improved packaging solutions.

This move solidifies QBP’s response to the FDA’s recent call to phase out artificial dyes by the end of 2026, underscoring the baking company’s commercial readiness, undisturbed supply chain and commitment to product integrity. Additionally, the transition to yellow pail packaging provides enhanced UV protection, helping to preserve color stability and overall product quality.

“This initiative marks an important advancement for our company and our customers,” said Raquel Rawlins, QBP’s R&D lead. “The integration of natural color solutions with enhanced packaging reinforces our product integrity and supports our sustainability objectives.”

The company expects to achieve compliance readiness by August of this year.
