PETALUMA, CA — Known for its portfolio of artisanal flatbreads, Rustic Bakery is celebrating its 20th anniversary in October, commemorating its first shipment of sourdough flatbread cases to Cowgirl Creamery, an artisan organic cheese supplier in San Francisco.
Today, Rustic Bakery produces a full line of crackers, cookies and biscuits available nationwide and operates five cafes in Marin County, CA. To celebrate the milestone and partnership, Cowgirl Creamery has created a new cheese dubbed “Howdy, Partner,” which blends a triple-cream rind cheese with chipotle and cayenne, inspired by Rustic Bakery’s Chipotle & Cayenne biscuit.
“From the beginning, the Rustic Bakery brand has been about partnership and shared moments,” said Shaila Garde-Lester, VP of marketing for Rustic Bakery. “It’s fitting that we are sharing this exciting milestone with our community of partners and fans, and what better way to celebrate than through a showcase of culinary craftsmanship that everyone can enjoy, whether they’re with us in person or in spirit.”
To mark the occasion, Rustic Bakery also collaborated with ten culinary leaders — ranging from top Bay Area chefs to national cookbook authors to celebrity TV chefs — to showcase its pairings, bringing together the brand’s products with a variety of Cowgirl Creamery’s cheeses. These creations, along with additional pairings created by its cafe chefs, will be shared online via social media and the brand’s website, and sampled at the Rustic Bakery cafes on Fridays in October.
