PASADENA, CA — Soft-baked snack brand Nature’s Bakery expanded its product portfolio with the addition of Hearty Bars.
Made with whole grains, real fruit and Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa, the new product packs 9 grams of plant-based protein from fava bean and sunflower sources. Hearty Bars accelerate the brand’s expansion strategy into the on-the-go snacking segment with a vegan and nut-free offering.
“Families today are seeking snacks that fuel their busy days and fit seamlessly into all moments, whether at school, work, or on the go,” said Pilar Arellano, senior VP of marketing at Nature’s Bakery. “With Hearty Bars, we aimed to create a delicious, soft-baked snack made with plant-powered protein suitable for all ages and stages.”
The new snack combines Nature’s Bakery’s signature soft-baked format with a mix of protein, fiber and whole grains to deliver a cake-like bite.
“A clear mission guided our innovation journey: to create a school and family-friendly snack bar that offers satisfying protein and whole grains in a way that appeals to all ages,” said Alice Kim, senior innovation manager at Nature’s Bakery. “We named them Hearty Bars because they’re designed to be a truly satiating snack to keep you going with wholesome ingredients like oats, whole grains, and unique plant-based proteins. After extensive testing and refinement, we perfected a recipe that the whole family can enjoy.”
This summer, Nature’s Bakery will roll out the new product to consumers through targeted sampling events in select markets, including Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles and Charlotte, NC, as well as through direct-to-home sampling via SmartBox. The brand is also launching its Adventure Advisors sweepstakes, offering participants a chance to win prizes such as a pantry stock-up of Hearty Bars.
Hearty Bars are available in Blueberry and Chocolate Chip flavors at Target stores nationwide, with future distribution planned on Amazon.
