CAMBRIDGE, CANADA — Mary’s Gone Crackers, a gluten-free and organic cracker company, is under new ownership.

In a notice to investors on April 30, Japanese food company Kameda Seika Co. announced a debt equity swap of Mary’s and all shares to Rosseau Inc., a US subsidiary of Dare Foods, Ltd. Kameda Seika first acquired the baking company in 2012 through Kameda USA to enter the better-for-you snacking segment.

Dare Foods’ portfolio covers an array of baked goods manufacturers, including cracker brand Breton.

“By integrating Mary’s Gone Crackers’ expertise in premium organic and gluten-free snacks, Dare Foods will enhance its product portfolio and deliver expanded solutions to consumers globally,” said Paul Sinden, senior VP for sales, marketing and R&D at Dare Foods.

Mary’s Gone Crackers, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, distributes its range of crackers across various specialty and mainstream retailers in the US and Canada.

Last year, the company made some major moves to elevate the business. This includes expanded manufacturing lines, a packaging revamp, and the appointment of Roger Yoder as VP of marketing and business development.
