NEW YORK — The Humble Seed, a better-for-you emerging snack brand, has been acquired by Fresh Hemp Foods, owner of hemp foods producer Manitoba Harvest.
The Humble Seed’s crackers — made with six super seeds, including hemp — are grain- and gluten-free and come in flavors such as Sea Salt, Garlic Herb, and Everything.
“We launched The Humble Seed with the vision of harnessing the power of seeds to make healthier snack foods,” said Sarah Meis, co-founder of The Humble Seed. “Fresh Hemp Foods is an industry leader in this space, and we are excited to see The Humble Seed grow under their leadership.”
With this acquisition, Fresh Hemp Foods plans to expand its wellness food product offerings and The Humble Seed products to grocery stores nationwide.
“We are excited to integrate The Humble Seed brand into our line of products and our manufacturing infrastructure, robust distribution network, sales and marketing,” said Jared Simon, president of Manitoba Harvest. “The Humble Seed will now join Manitoba Harvest, the leading global hemp food brand, to further our goal of educating consumers on the power of hemp and other super seeds.”
The Humble Seed participated in SKU’s 2023 Women and BIPOC accelerator track, which was created to equip startups with the tools they need to advance their businesses.
