TAUNTON, MA — Harpak-Ulma has appointed Kevin Roach, the company’s CEO, board chair following the retirement of Charlie Harlfinger, who has held the position since the company was founded in 1994.

“I am deeply honored to assume the role of chairman of the board at Harpak-Ulma,” Roach said. “Charlie Harlfinger’s legacy of innovation and excellence has set a high standard, and I am committed to continuing this legacy. I look forward to working with our talented team to drive further growth and technological advancements and ensuring that Harpak-Ulma remains a leader in the packaging industry.”

Roach has served as CEO of the packaging company since 2018 and has led Harpak-Ulma through significant growth and technological advancements during his tenure. His experience and forward-thinking vision will allow for a seamless transition to his new responsibilities as board chair.

In addition to his time on the Harpak-Ulma board of directors, Harlfinger served as president of the company from 1998-2013. He spent over six decades in the packaging industry.

“Charlie was my first, most important, and longest-standing mentor,” Roach said. “He preached the importance of putting the customer first — and demonstrated that philosophy by focusing our decisions and investments around creating customer value. He challenged us to innovate using technology to benefit our customers.
