Schubert acquires land to expand its North American headquarters

CHARLOTTE, NC — Packaging machines company Schubert North America, which has been located in Charlotte, NC since 2015, has acquired seven acres of land to further expand its North American headquarters. This expansion is set to help the company prepare to meet the demand of its growing customer base in the region.

“We are expanding our location for our North American customers,” said Hartmut Siegel, CEO of Schubert North America. “In the past, customers often had to fly to Schubert’s global headquarters in Crailsheim, Germany, for final acceptance of new machine projects. In the future, acceptance of selected machines will take place directly on site in Charlotte, NC.”

This new 45,000-sq.-ft. building will house sales, engineering, service, final assembly and a customer training center. It will also be designed with Schubert’s corporate sustainability initiative in mind as a climate neutral building equipped with technology capable of generating green electricity. This land acquisition offers an opportunity for Schubert’s future growth.

“An important criterion when selecting the land, was the possibility to add even further buildings in the future,” Siegel said.

The company has invested tens of millions into the new headquarters, which reflects the commitment and long-term strategic significance of this market to Schubert.

“Fortunately, the pandemic has not slowed down the ongoing development of our product innovations,” Siegel said. “Demand from our North American customers for state-of-the-art packaging technology with great flexibility and a high degree of automation has been high.”

With proximity to a major highway, an international airport, and the University of North Carolina and Central Piedmont Community College, the location offers an array of opportunities for connecting with customers and partnering with local companies and academic institutions.

“Our customers and employees are enthusiastic about the land acquisition and investment plans,” Siegel said.
