EAST HANOVER, NJ — Sharing is caring as Oreo, a Mondelez International brand, celebrates Pride month with its first official retail pride pack. It’s a continuation of the company’s partnership with nonprofit PFLAG National.

The Oreo Pride Limited Edition Cookie pack features the classic chocolate sandwich cookie embossed with the word “proud” on the chocolate wafer parts of the cookie and is designed as a “canvas for allies to share their words of pride,” according to the brand’s website.

Emblazoned with words of affirmation from other LGBTQ+ allies, the package has a space for consumers to write their own words of support before sharing the pack with loved ones.

“Words of love are needed now more than ever,” said Olympia Portale, marketing director for Oreo. “This pack is our love letter to the LGBTQ+ community and we hope that allies everywhere take advantage of the open space to write their own messages of support and share with family and friends.”

This marks the third year of the cookie company’s partnership with PFLAG National, a nonprofit that provides support, education and advocacy to LGBTQ+ people, their families and allies. Previously, the two partnered on rainbow cookies with colored crème representing five pride flags and released a rainbow pack.

“We are honored to expand our commitment to active allyship with our friends at Oreo and share messages of support,” said Brian K. Bond, executive director of PFLAG National. “We know that notes of love and affirmation – no matter how small – can have a real impact on our LGBTQ+ loved ones. We’re excited for people to see these beautiful packs and are grateful for the continued opportunity to promote affirmation and inclusion.”

The limited-edition cookies come in a 15.25-oz. pack and are available for presale on Oreo’s website. They will also be available at retailers nationwide May 18, while supplies last.
