IRVING, TX — Seed oils have been heavy on the minds of consumers, and they’re looking for alternatives. In response, tortilla chip brand Xochitl is transitioning to 100% pure avocado oil across its entire portfolio.

“Our commitment to authenticity is unwavering,” said Maura Mottolese, CEO of Xochitl. “By transitioning our entire product line to avocado oil, we are enhancing the overall snacking experience.”

The transition away from seed oils comes on the heels of rising consumer demand for better-for-you products, especially those that support heart health.

To clearly exemplify the shift, the brand’s packaging will now feature a “Made with Avocado Oil” illustration with bright colors and shapes.

“This represents a major investment in the quality that our community has come to expect and deserves,” Mottolese said.

In addition to the transition, the Xochitl flavor portfolio will expand with the introduction of Spicy Lime and Nacho. The Spicy Lime variety balances citrus with chili heat for a zesty kick, while Nacho offers a modern Mexican twist with cheesy flavor.

The revamped lineup will roll out into major retailers nationwide this month with an SRP of $4.00 for 7.5-10-ounce bags, with other sizes and formats set to debut later this year.

Last year, Xochitl underwent a brand refresh with the help of talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
