HORSHAM, PA — Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) reported that total retail sales for its Sara Lee sliced bread combined and Artesano sliced bread reached $1 billion in 2022.

This accomplishment allowed the team to check off a key milestone on their journey to becoming the leading bread brand in the US.

“We’re thrilled about this achievement and are focused on what the coming year has in store for Sara Lee, Artesano and our total mainstream business,” said Jinder Bhogal, senior brand manager of national mainstream brands at BBU. “We are confident that our operational excellence combined with refined brand positioning, communications and media planning will lead BBU to the No. 1 position in the mainstream category in 2023.”

To keep the success of Sara Lee’s on the rise in 2023, the brand will focus its goals around three pillars of growth: deepening consumers’ emotional connection to the brand by launching Sara Lee’s brand purpose, continuing to drive the brand’s main variants in addition to other offerings, and focusing on ways to extend Artesano’s leadership position.
