RIDGEFIELD, NJ — Toufayan Bakeries, one of the oldest privately owned bakeries in the US, has experienced growth driven by consumer interest in the company’s new keto line of pita, wraps and flatbread. This increased interest has led to robust sales and increased distribution nationwide in retailers such as Food Lion, Stop & Shop and ShopRite, as well as more than 1,300 Publix and 1,000 Walmart stores.

The keto diet focuses on low-carb and high-protein foods, and it has a loyal following as some individuals benefit from potential weight management and other health boons. In fact, according to the International Food Information Councill, the number of people following a ketogenic diet has doubled since 2018.
