DALLAS — Stellar Snacks, a Carson City, NV-based woman-owned pretzel manufacturer, partnered with Southwest Airlines to roll out its Maui Monk Pretzel Braids as the airline’s new inflight salty snack.

“We’re enhancing our inflight snack offering with the addition of Stellar Pretzels, which offer customers a little bit of everything — sweet, salty and crunchy—from an up-and-coming company that bakes its snacks with love,” said Bill Tierney, VP of customer experience and digital experience at Southwest. “We think it’s the perfect fit for the airline with Heart and hope customers enjoy this exciting new flavor next time they fly Southwest.”

Stellar Snacks’ pretzels are made in the US and are kosher and dairy-, nut- and soy-free. The non-GMO vegan pretzels come in 0.5-ounce individually wrapped packs and will be served on Southwest flights over 175 miles.

“In addition to our gourmet flavors, we take the snack experience further through our artist program, which transforms our snack packaging into a canvas for emerging artists,” said Elisabeth Galvin, founder of Stellar Snacks. “Each bag of Maui Monk Pretzels features a selection of the vibrant artwork of Caro Clarke, turning each snack into an engaging, artistic experience for every traveler as they enjoy their pretzels.”

In addition to partnering with Southwest, Stellar Snacks extended its distribution to Whole Foods Market stores in Nevada and California earlier this year.
