CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA — Private label and branded salty snack manufacturer Snak King appointed Michael Axelrod as CEO. Axelrod succeeds Barry Levin, who has led Snak King for more than 40 years and will remain with the company by serving on the board of directors.

Axelrod has held executive positions at Kraft/Mondelez Foods (Mondelez International), TreeHouse Foods and Whirlpool Corp. He most recently served as CEO of Del Real Foods, where he oversaw the company’s revenue growth, national expansion and operational improvements. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the CPG space to his role at Snak King.

“Barry has built an exceptional company with a reputation for quality, customer trust and innovation,” Axelrod said. “It is an honor to follow in his footsteps, and I look forward to working with the Snak King team to build on that foundation as we pursue the next phase of growth and value creation.”

Founded in 1978, Snak King manufactures a wide range of products, including tortilla chips, rolled tortilla chips, extruded snacks, potato chips and more. Its portfolio encompasses both private label products for leading retailers and a set of established brands.

“Building Snak King over the last four decades with so many remarkable teammates has been a great privilege, and I’m proud of the business we have grown together,” Levin said. “I’m confident Mike is the right leader to guide Snak King forward and continue to deliver for our customers, employees and partners.”
