HORSHAM, PA — Grupo Bimbo opened registration for the 10th annual Bimbo Global Race, a leading cause-driven race to fight food insecurity across the globe.

The company is gearing up to bring together more than 150,000 participants in 30 cities across 23 countries. Grupo Bimbo will donate 20 slices of bread for each in-person race registration, and two slices for each virtual registration. The goal is to donate 3 million slices of bread to food banks worldwide.

This initiative furthers Grupo Bimbo’s commitment to “Nourish a Better World,” and invites consumers to support collective hunger relief.

“We are very excited to celebrate 10 years of this incredible event,” said Alberto Levy, VP of global marketing at Grupo Bimbo. “The Bimbo Global Race has become a source of inspiration for more and more people — regardless of age or whether they are professional runners — to join in and do their part to nourish a better world.”

Mexico City will host the event, honoring the winners of the previous edition. In the US, runners can participate in either a 5K or 10K race in Los Angeles or virtually.

“Beyond the joy of the race experience, participation helps provide bread to those who need it most,” Levy said. “That’s what truly makes this event special. We want to continue supporting this great cause and creating memorable moments for all runners. With enthusiasm and commitment, we know the impact will keep growing.”

Bimbo Global Race will take place in-person on Sept. 28, with the virtual race scheduled for Sept. 22-28. For more information about participating cities and countries, visit the Bimbo Global Race website.
