PENNSAUKEN, NJ — International baking ingredient supplier Puratos is partnering with Pennsauken High School to open the first US Puratos Bakery School on Sept. 7. This is the seventh school established by the company, following locations in India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Romania and the Philippines.
The four-year bakery curriculum — housed in a state-of-the-art classroom sponsored by Puratos — will introduce participating students to career opportunities in the baking industry. The Bakery School is the latest addition to the high school’s Career and Technical Education culinary arts program.
Local officials, bakery school staff, and international and US-based Puratos executives will be in attendance when the students are officially inducted into the program. With 59 students enrolled in the inaugural class, this is the largest Puratos Bakery School class to date.
