THOMASVILLE, GA — In the first half of the year, Flowers Foods unveiled a major collection of new baked goods releases across its Nature’s Own, Wonder, Dave’s Killer Bread and Canyon Bakehouse brands.

As 2025 comes to a close, the baking company revealed its latest collection of innovative baked goods set to hit store shelves. These portfolio additions center on two hot topics at the center of R&D discussions in the industry: protein and sourdough.

“Our continued investment in innovation is yielding powerful results as we reshape our portfolio to reflect evolving market trends,” said Mark Courtney, chief brand officer at Flowers Foods. “Our newest products build on strong momentum from earlier this year and bring fresh, differentiated options that speak directly to today’s consumers.”

Two Flowers brands – Nature’s Own and Dave’s Killer Bread – added more new SKUs to their lineups, bringing their total innovations for the year to four.

  • Wheat + Protein: The keto-friendly loaf expands on the brand’s Own Life lineup, boasting 9 grams of net carbs and 22 grams of protein per two-slice serving. Perfectly Crafted Italian Herb Loaf: Infused with oregano, rosemary, basil, thyme, and garlic, the Nature’s Own Perfectly Crafted Thick Sliced Italian Herb loaf appeals to consumers looking for a more artisan product type.

Dave’s Killer Bread

  • Supreme Sourdough: Noted as a major trend in 2025 by Whole Foods Market, Dave’s Killer Bread is meeting shoppers’ interest in this bread type via its new product. The thick-sliced loaf, made with an authentic sourdough starter and rolled in the brand’s signature Good Seed topping, will be available in markets along the West Coast.
  • Oats & Blues: In honor of the brand’s 20th anniversary, Dave’s Killer Bread is reviving one of its earliest products. The organic loaf is rolled in oats and blue cornmeal and is available nationwide in wide pan and thin-sliced loaves.
