MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Old El Paso, a General Mills brand, teamed up with NFL players J.J. Watt and Jason Kelce to create Caramel Dessert Taco Shells.

Old El Paso introduced Dessert Taco Shells at the tail end of the 2023 NFL season, also in collaboration with Watt as well as Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings. The original shells featured a Cinnamon Toast Crunch coating.

“Last year, football fans went wild for our limited-edition box featuring J.J. Watt and Justin Jefferson, with the dessert taco shells selling out in just hours,” said Jenny Jonker, brand experience manager for Old El Paso. “This year, we’re bringing back the excitement with another MVP duo and a brand-new flavor that perfectly blends sweet and savory — guaranteed to be a hit with football fans and food lovers everywhere.”

To celebrate the new flavor launch, Old El Paso launched a limited-edition, collector’s version of the Caramel Dessert Taco Shells box. Featuring both Watt and Kelce on its packaging, the boxes will be available for consumers to purchase in bundles of three exclusively online at Walmart.

Standard 10-count boxes of Old El Paso Caramel Dessert Taco Shells will be available for a limited time at retailers nationwide starting in March for an SRP of $4.06.
