CHICAGO — Mondelez International, Inc. declared that it has finalized the purchase of leading U.S organic energy bar maker Clif Bar & Co.

This purchase lends growth to Mondelez’s global snack bar business to more than $1 billion, with dominating brands such as CLIF, CLIF Kid and LUNA.. These brands pair well with two other Mondelez businesses, Perfect Snacks and Grenade. This acquisition will help the company’s strategies to increase sustainable growth and continue to expand in baked snacks.

The purchase of Clif Bar & Co. adds to the extension of Mondelez’s snacking segments in key geographies. In 2022 alone, the company has acquired Ricolino, Mexico’s top confectionary company, from Grupo Bimbo and concluded its acquisition of Chipita S.A., a frontrunner in the Central and Eastern European snack size cakes and pastries category.
