VANCOUVER, BC  — Plant-based food company Modern Plant Based Foods plans to launch its “Snacks from the Sun” popped chips brand to an additional 130 stores across Canada.

“This is just the beginning for our expansion plans to increase our distribution for Snacks from the Sun,” said Avtar Dhaliwal, CEO of Modern Plant Based Foods. “We have received rave reviews for the product and have significant meetings planned with distributors. The addition of 130 stores is just the cusp and the start of the potential growth potential we see in Canada.”

The company plans to continue its distribution work in Canada and the US, and based on market trends in the snack segment, believes it will see continued growth in 2022. The product expansion follows the success of the product at the Canadian Health Food Association tradeshow (CHFA).

“After receiving tremendous feedback on the Snacks from the Sun popped chips at the CHFA event in Vancouver, we look forward to continuing our expansion plan into the snack category of retail stores,” said Cassidy McCord, CCO of Modern Plant Based Foods.

The snack line features popped potato crisps that are baked chips made from potatoes and whole grains. This product is vegan and free of gluten, cholesterol and saturated fat. The product is available in six flavor varieties: sour cream and chive, sea salt, cracked pepper, tangy barbecue, salt and vinegar, and nacho cheese.
