NEW YORK CITY — Popular retail operation Magnolia Bakery is dipping into the world of consumer-packaged goods with the launch of its Banana Pudding Cookies.
The New York-based bakery chain crafted the cookies with inspiration from Magnolia’s signature banana pudding. Containing real butter, bananas, crunchy vanilla wafers and chocolate, the soft-baked cookies are available in three flavors: Classic Vanilla with White Chocolate Chips, Chocolate Chunk and Confetti with White Chocolate Chips.
“Our expansion into the grocery, and specifically the cookie aisle, allows Magnolia Bakery to expand our magic into more places for more consumers,” said Eddie Revis, CMO of Magnolia Bakery. “We validated this through a recent brand study where nearly 70% of consumers shared they’d most like to see our brand expand to grocery store shelves next. We choose the cookie aisle as our first set after taking a strategic look at our most popular products and where our brand could elevate and grow a category with our retail partners.”
According to data reported by IRI ending Jan. 1. 2023, the soft-baked cookie category, where Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding Cookies will be merchandised, is the fastest growing segment within cookies, making it a key path to entering CPG.
The 2 oz. Banana Pudding Cookies are individually wrapped and come in a 4-pack at an SRP of $7.99. Consumers can find the sweets on grocery store shelves, on Amazon and on the Magnolia Bakery website.
