LOS ANGELES — La Monarca Bakery, a Mexican food brand with a reputation for its authentic pan dulce and cookies, expanded its footprint with retailer Meijer, making its products more accessible to consumers across the Midwest.

“It has always been our vision to share the sweet flavor of Mexico across the US,” said Ricardo Cervantes, co-founder and CEO of La Monarca Bakery. “Meijer is renowned for its high-quality fresh offerings, and we are thrilled that Midwest shoppers can now visit their neighborhood Meijer Supercenter and find La Monarca Bakery’s made-from-scratch Mexican cookies as part of the World Foods selection.”

La Monarca Bakery’s Mexican Wedding Cookies, Cinnamon Cookies and Orejitas will be available at Meijer Supercenters in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio later this month.

Since opening its first retail location in 2006, La Monarca has expanded into major national and regional retailers, with more than 1,000 locations across the US, including Albertsons.
