La Brea breaks into pretzel category with new line

LOS ANGELES — La Brea Bakery, an Aspire Bakeries brand, is amplifying the pretzel category with the debut of its Soft Pretzel line.

The new artisan Pretzel Buns, Pretzel Sausage Buns and Pretzel Baguettes are handcrafted using clean ingredients and traditional techniques, bringing the flavor of Bavarian pretzels to in-store bakeries.

“Shoppers today are seeking more from their bread,” said Brie Buenning, senior director of marketing at La Brea Bakery. “Our pretzel line offers a new take on a beloved classic that uses real ingredients and proven techniques to deliver delicious pretzel flavor and texture.”

Each new variety features a crisp golden-brown crust, a soft interior and a buttery finish. Pretzel Sausage Buns provide a gourmet twist on the classic hot dog bun, while Pretzel Baguettes are designed to elevate eating occasions, including conventional subs and charcuterie spreads.

The Soft Pretzel line is expected to hit the shelves later this year, with price and distribution information on the way.

Last year, a selection of La Brea’s Take & Bake breads launched in Target stores nationwide.
