LOS ANGELES — King’s Hawaiian has issued a voluntary recall of its Pretzel Slider Buns, Pretzel Hamburger Buns and Pretzel Bites out of an abundance of caution due to the recall of an ingredient used from Lyons Magnus. The supplier has recalled the ingredient due to the potential for it to cause microbial contamination from Cronobacter sakazakii and Clostridium botulinum organisms.

This recall is the second from the supplier in recent weeks, the first being issues on July 29 when 53 nutritional and beverage products were flagged for the risk of Cronobacter sakazakii microbial infection, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

King’s Hawaiian advises consumers currently in possession of the company’s pretzel product to dispose of them. Consumers can contact the company at 877-695-4227 if they have questions or to request a product replacement. The number is available to call Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT.
