NAAS, IRELAND — Kerry, a food solutions provider, launched its 2025 Taste Charts, a resource designed to guide food and beverage innovators worldwide based on developing trends and innovations.
“Consumers are seeking a balance of adventurous taste profiles and wellness-driven goals,” said Soumya Nair, global research and insights director at Kerry. “In 2025, we are seeing global trends influence local markets.”
This year’s taste charts feature a selection of tastes and trends from around the world, spanning 13 global regions. The report blends global market insights with the expertise of top flavorists and scientists to help brands stay ahead of the curve and create products that align with evolving industry trends.
“Our data-driven charts empower food and beverage professionals to connect with evolving consumer preferences to infuse existing brand lines with these new emerging flavors while remaining true to their brand’s identities,” Nair said.
Taste Chart’s flavors of 2025 include:
- Sweet flavors inspired by barbecue: This global trend has been seen in the baking industry through innovative barbecue offerings, such as Snack Factory’s Golden Mustard BBQ Pop’ums, which combine the texture of popcorn and crunchiness of pretzels.
- Citrus flavors inspired by Japanese Sudachi, Mikan Satsuma and Calamansi: This Asian-inspired trend has been seen in unexpected partnerships, such as Cafe Valley’s lemon-lime- and orange-flavored mini cupcakes in collaboration with Keurig Dr Pepper.
- Caramel flavors inspired by Dulce de Leche: This Latin American trend highlights the region’s love for caramel flavors and remains a long-standing staple in the baking industry, resulting in creations such as Catalina Crunch’s Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Cookie Bar.
- Chocolate combinations: This universal trend is another baking industry favorite and mixes chocolate with other flavors such as mint, hazelnut and almond. Mondelez International products already utilizing this trend include Mint Chip cookies from OREO and Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies from Tate’s Bake Shop.
