FORT WAYNE, IN — Rob Ellis, past president and former owner of Ellison Bakery, passed away Jan. 17. He was 75 years old.

Ellis dedicated 53 years of his life to Ellison, shaping the Fort Wayne, IN-based bakery as it grew into what it is today, a multi-faceted cookie producer.

“In a bakery, we often talk about what we’re building, batch by batch, day by day,” the company said via LinkedIn. “Rob understood that the most important things take time, patience and care. His legacy continues to rise through the people and values he poured into this place.”

Outside of the bakery, Ellis enjoyed golfing, cheering on his grandkids and spending time at their house on Big Long Lake. He retired from the bakery in 2017 and eventually moved to Florida with his wife of 27 years, Cinthia (Cindy).

Ellis is survived by his wife, children, stepchildren and grandchildren.

“Rob believed deeply in people,” the company said. “He believed in family, in his faith and in Ellison Bakery. He showed that belief through how he led and how he lived.”
