KANSAS CITY, MO — Jason Stricker, VP of sales and marketing for Shick Esteve, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 11. He was 47 years old.
A longtime member of the baking industry, Stricker spent two decades with Shick Esteve, where he started as an engineer.
“Jason served Shick Esteve relentlessly and was an integral part of our organization,” the company said in a statement. “For the past 20 years he has made countless contributions and dedicated his career to our industry.”
In June, he was named to the BEMA board of directors.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Lynn Bogdajewicz-Stricker; children Cameron David Stricker and Ciara Jo Stricker; “fur babies” Walter, Brodie and Nala; mother Sandra Kay Stricker; brother Kevin David Stricker (Kristie); sisters-in-law Stacey Bogdajewicz and Rae Williams (Tony); brothers-in-law Chet Bogdajewicz and Kevin Brubach (Mary); and several extended family members.
He was preceded in passing by his father, David Ardel Stricker, who was often credited with introducing Stricker to the baking industry.
Visitation was Aug. 16 at the Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life was held Aug. 17 at the same location. A separate Celebration of Life will take place in Chicago at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stricker’s name to Friends of KCK Animal Services (Venmo: @donateKCKasfriends).
