LAS VEGAS — The opportunities available at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) are vast, from the popular IBIEducate programming to the networking between thousands of attendees. But making the trek from abroad can make it more difficult to access the triennial tradeshow. One way international bakers and suppliers can streamline logistics is by joining an official delegation.

In fact, the triennial event boasted a 34% increase in international bakers from 2019 to 2022. This demographic also made up a little more than a quarter of all attendees in 2022, with the largest percentage coming from Mexico, Canada, Italy, Brazil, the Netherlands, Colombia, France and Germany.

There are currently 12 countries with registered delegations: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines and Uruguay. By joining a delegation, baking professionals will receive a guided experience with benefits geared toward making it easier to get the most out of IBIE.

Cost-savings. International travel and tradeshow expenses can add up quickly. Becoming a part of an IBIE delegation offers some opportunities to save money through a discounted registration rate as well as group reduced-rate hotel rooms.

Support system. In addition to helping curb travel expenses, international showgoers can get help with registration and US visa renewal applications. Attendees from a Visa Waiver Program-designated country can take advantage of the program to travel to the US for IBIE.

Networking opportunities. The benefits keep going throughout the length of the show. On the Baking Expo floor, delegation members will have access to the International Lounge, a space in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center featuring complimentary Wi-Fi, meeting space, and coffee and tea beverage service. Additionally, participants can take advantage of IBIE’s Corporate Meeting Program, which allows guests to reserve private meeting spaces outside of show hours.

In addition to the delegations, IBIE has made major strides to cater to international for the 2025 edition of the tradeshow. This includes a partnership with Mexipan for select education sessions held in Spanish and the introduction of the Worldly app, which offers free translation and transcription of audio into 64 languages. One of the show features this year is the International Pavilion, a space on the show floor dedicated to the array of ingredients, equipment and technology from across the globe.

Delegations, alongside other key investments at this year’s event, make attending IBIE an easier, more inclusive experience for international guests. Visit the IBIE website for more information and to register for IBIE 2025.
