CHICAGO — Hometown Food Co., known for its portfolio of American baking brands and controlled by Brynwood Partners VIII L.P., finalized its acquisition of Birch Benders from Sovos Brands. The terms of transaction were not disclosed.

Birch Benders joins other bakery brands under Hometown Food such as Pillsbury, Funfetti, Hungry Jack, Arrowhead Mills, White Lily, Jim Dandy, Martha White and De Wafelbakkers.

The better-for-you baking company was founded in 2011 and offers an expansive portfolio of keto, paleo and organic options at grocery and mass retailers and through e-commerce. Its products include toaster waffles, cookies, pancake and waffle mixes, pancake and baking cups, baking mixes and frostings, and syrups.
With the addition of Birch Benders to its brand portfolio, Brynwood Partners’ platform increases to more than $2.3 billion in annual sales.
