MALDEN, MA — Martin Braun-Gruppe, an international group of companies in the commercial baking industry, announced its acquisition of Hoff’s Bakery, a US manufacturer of premium ready-to-eat cakes and desserts.

The deal helps the European set of companies break into the US food industry and strengthens its Frozen Bakery division.

Hoff’s, a Malden, MA-based baking company, was founded in 1983 and produces an assortment of finished cakes and desserts for distribution in supermarkets, foodservice and retail. Hoff’s Bakery will continue to operate under its current name.
