MEXICO CITY — With a push for clean labels dominating the commercial baking industry, Grupo Bimbo announced its commitment to eliminate all artificial colorants from its global product portfolio by the end of 2026.

As of today, 99% of Grupo Bimbo’s products — including its core categories of breads, buns, rolls, tortillas, bagels and English muffins — are already free from artificial flavors and colors. These categories account for approximately 50% of Grupo Bimbo’s global net sales and more than 70% of its US sales.

“We continue making solid progress toward our health and wellness targets,” said Rafael Pamias, CEO of Grupo Bimbo. “And by 2030, we aim for 100 percent of our baked goods and snacks to be made with simple, natural recipes — ensuring our products remain safe, nutritious, affordable and accessible to families around the world.”

The Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNI), a global foundation that challenges the food industry to cultivate healthier food systems, recognized Grupo Bimbo as one of the four highest-ranked food companies for the nutritional quality of its products. ATNI also highlighted the company for its responsible marketing practices and expanded access to its product portfolio.
