HUNT VALLEY, MD – The McCormick brand French’s Mustard announced today that it has teamed up with Piantedosi Baking Company to debut French’s Mustard Buns in celebration of National Mustard Day on August 7.

The iconic mustard brand partnered with the New England-based wholesale bakery to roll out the limited-edition product with the yellow mustard included in the formula for added flavor. The buns will be available starting on August 7 at select well-known landmarks and baseball stadiums across the US in cities such as New York, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston while supplies last. Notable locations include Yankee Stadium and The Hot Dog King outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Camden Yards in Baltimore.

“For more than 115 years, French’s has delivered bold, all-American flavor to customers nationwide,” said Jill Pratt, chief marketing excellence officer for McCormick. “Year after year, we look forward to raising the French’s flag in celebration of National Mustard Day, by introducing exciting new ways to enjoy the bright, tangy taste of mustard.”

This is one of many flavor adventures the company has embarked on, with past products including mustard ice cream and mustard beer. Carmine Piantedosi, operations manager and owner at Piantedosi Baking Company, said that Piantedosi was enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with the brand.

“When the French’s opportunity came across our desk, we jumped at the chance to collaborate. Together, we have over 200 years of quality, creativity and experience,” Piantedosi said. “Mixing the bold flavor of their classic yellow mustard and our innovative baking process, we developed a truly unique bread formula for National Mustard Day. We’re thrilled to have thousands of people across the country taste the awesome buns that we created.”

French’s is also releasing two recipes for at home bakers who are unable to visit the pop-ups including a mustard challah bread and a mustard beer bread. More details are available here.
