THOMASVILLE, GA — Flowers Foods is recalling certain packages of Tastykake Chocolate Kandy Kakes due to undeclared peanuts. To date, no related illnesses or incidents have been reported.
Flowers initiated the recall after it discovered that certain packages of the chocolate cake varieties contained Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes. The chocolate flavor does not declare peanuts in its ingredient statement.
The recalled product was distributed on May 11 to retail customers in the following states: Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia. Packages impacted by the recall have a June 5 “Enjoy By” date and UPC 0 25600 00225 4.
