LOS ANGELES — Famous Amos, a Ferrero North America brand, celebrated its 50th anniversary and paid tribute to its late founder Wally Amos with a block party in Los Angeles.
“Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Famous Amos with this incredible block party in Los Angeles has been a truly special experience,” said Rachna Patel, VP of marketing for Famous Amos. “We aimed to honor Wally’s legacy of community, creativity and, of course, the iconic cookies.”
The May 3 event paid homage to the annual block parties the brand’s late founder threw in the ’70s and ’80s. Members of the Amos family were in attendance, including Wally’s children Michael, Shawn and Sarah.
During the event, the cookie brand received recognition from Los Angeles County and the California State Legislature, which Patel noted underscores the significance of Famous Amos’ journey.
“As we look to the future, we remain committed to the values that Wally Amos instilled in our brand — bringing people together and spreading joy through our famous cookies,” she said.
This spring, Famous Amos launched the fifth edition of its Ingredients for Success Entrepreneurship Initiative, held in partnership with the US Black Chambers, Inc. The program will award $50,000 to three early-stage Black business owners and offer resources including mentorship, networking and education.
