SAN FRANCISCO — Equii, a protein foodtech startup that transforms the nutritional value of flour, has announced its largest retail expansion to date with the launch of its Complete Protein Balance Bread in Hy-Vee stores across the Midwest.

The company is expanding to 88 Hy-Vee stores across Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Nebraska and Wisconsin. This move broadens the brand’s retail presence to nearly 120 stores and is a substantial jump for Equii’s distribution network.

The protein bread was originally announced December 2023 as a response to growing demand for nutritious alternatives in staple foods. A month later, Equii announced a partnership with Bridor to develop an artisan touch to the protein baked bread.
