Crumbs Bakeshop goes colossal, launches giant-sized cupcake

NEW YORK — The Original Crumbs Bakeshop, a retail cupcake chain-turned CPG brand, designed its latest innovation to feed multiple consumers with one oversized product. The brand launched the CRUMBS Colossal Cupcake, a 60-ounce cupcake with an enhanced size format and playful design.

“Our model has evolved, but our mission remains the same,” said Mia Bauer, co-founder of Crumbs Bakeshop. “We launched Crumbs to bring back the magic of neighborhood bakeries, and now we want to bring that same premium quality to local supermarkets — so shoppers can pick up fresh, delicious, showstopping Crumbs desserts alongside their groceries.”

The Colossal Cupcake is available in two flavors:

  • Vanilla Birthday Cake: Classic vanilla confetti cake with piñata-style sprinkles inside, covered with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.
  • Cookies & Cream: Rich chocolate cake filled on the inside with cookies and cream-infused buttercream, topped with vanilla buttercream, and covered with cookies and cream cookie pieces.

“The colossal cupcakes were a huge hit in our stores because they are so unique and the size of traditional cakes,” Bauer said. “Now, customers can celebrate all their special occasions with a one-of-a-kind Crumbs giant cupcake made with the finest ingredients that made Crumbs famous.”

The Colossal Cupcake is now available at The Kroger Co. family of stores across 22 states for $24.99. The baking company will also showcase the new product at the upcoming International Dairy Deli Bakery Association show, set for June 1-3 in New Orleans.
