FREDERICK, MD — Bakery de France is undergoing substantial development with the construction of a new 176,000-square-foot facility in Frederick, MD.
The $87 million expansion will not only increase production capacity but will also benefit the local workforce with the creation of 80 full-time jobs, growing the company’s local workforce to more than 200 employees by 2027.
As a family-owned artisan bakery, Bakery de France uses premium ingredients, its signature levain and a traditional European fermentation process to bring authentic quality to the US market. The new facility will allow the company to grow its production footprint in Frederick and beyond.
The more than 30-year-old company also recently entered a joint venture with La Lorraine Bakery Group, a family-owned milling and baking company headquartered in Belgium, to accelerate both companies’ growth plans and further expand their positions in the North American market.
