ST. LOUIS — Companion Baking is expanding its bread pudding offerings with an Apple Crisp Bread Pudding flavor option, available for a limited time.
To try and reduce the waste within the bakery, the St. Louis-based bread and pastry distributor began making bread pudding from leftover bread from its café. This gained popularity from the bakery’s customers and the company decided to deliver it fresh to local retailers.
The demand for the bread pudding has not decreased. Within the past year, Companion Baking has included the sweet treat into its frozen program for regional and national retailer distribution. It has also expanded the flavors available including Original, Chocolate Mocha, Maple Pecan, Banana Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Spice, and Apple Crisp.
Depending upon the reviews the Apple Crisp receives, the limited-time flavor could be added to the lineup year-round.
