ARLINGTON, VA — Effective Feb. 9, a new leader is taking charge of SNAC International. The trade association announced the appointment of Cindy Kuester as its new president and CEO.

“SNAC plays a critical role in representing snack manufacturers and their suppliers, and I’m committed to strengthening our impact in advocacy, education and networking,” Kuester said. “I look forward to partnering with our members to advance innovation, elevate our voice, and position the snack industry for continued growth and success.”

Boasting more than 25 years of experience in the food industry, Kuester brings a wealth of leadership expertise building high-performing teams, driving profitability, and aligning various strategies through sales and operations planning processes to the role.

“Cindy’s proven leadership and deep understanding of the snack industry make her the ideal choice to lead SNAC International into the future,” said Phil Gusmano, SNAC chair and VP of Better Made Snack Foods. “Her track record of success and commitment to collaboration will strengthen our ability to serve members and advance the industry.”

She succeeds Christine Cochran, who now serves as president and CEO of the National Automatic Merchandising Association, and takes the reins from Kelly Knowles, SNAC’s senior advisor of advocacy and industry relations, who has served as interim president and CEO during the transition period.

“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Kelly for her outstanding leadership and steady guidance during this important period,” said Tim Bateman, SNAC first vice chair and president and COO of Calbee America Inc. “We are thrilled that Kelly will remain with SNAC to help advance the organization to continued success.”
