Cain Food and Millbio merge under PE firm Apheon

DALLAS and MILAN — Cain Food, a clean-label and technical ingredients producer for the commercial baking industry, and Millbio, an Italy-based manufacturer of natural functional ingredients for the food industry, have announced a merger under Apheon’s guidance.

The union is set to deliver clean-label solutions to commercial bakeries and food manufacturers, combining deep expertise in fermentation, formulation and natural preservation to offer customers a fully integrated supply chain.

With R&D centers in the Americas, Europe and Asia, the merger will provide an expanded product range that includes sourdough starters, natural mold inhibitors, enzyme-based improvers, softening systems and botanical shelf-life extenders. Customers will have access to tailored formulation development and application testing. The combined manufacturing and logistics infrastructure globally will ensure scalable product delivery and consistent quality assurance.
