C-suite appointments maneuver J. Skinner toward growth

OMAHA, NE — J. Skinner Baking, a bakery manufacturer of artisan baked goods including Danishes, muffins, cinnamon rolls, brownies and bars, announced the appointment of two c-suite executives. David Kowal was appointed CEO of the company, and David Meltzer was named CCO.

The appointments mark a milestone in the company’s growth and reflect its commitment to service, innovation and distribution expansion.

As a manufacturer of artisanal pastries and ready-to-eat baked goods, J. Skinner distributes through in-store bakeries (ISB), foodservice and co-pack partnerships. It was founded in 1983 and has since grown into one of the largest ISB providers in the US.

Kowal, who most recently served as CEO of BrightPet Nutritional Group, brings a track record of scaling businesses, driving operations and fostering innovation. He’s held a variety of leadership roles at other food and beverage companies, including Dawn Foods, throughout his career.

Meltzer will lead all customer-facing functions and play a key role in shaping J. Skinner’s go-to-market strategy, expanding customer relationships and elevating the company’s presence across the industry.   His experience includes spearheading commercial strategies and helping to expand market share and generate new business growth.
