Brewer’s aims to reduce food waste by upcycling brewers’ grains byproduct into cracker products. The company estimates it has saved more than 500,000 pounds of “spent grain” through its products. Brewer’s chips are currently available in two flavors — Rosemary and Sea Salt — and its flatbreads are available in Everything and Sea Salt.

Sprouts is the first US grocer to carry the upcycled products on national scale and will have Brewer’s Foods’ products available in more than 380 stores. Prior to the national launch, the food company found success regionally in the Northeast through Whole Foods, local retail chains, specialty stores and cheese shops.

“Launching Brewer’s Foods in Sprouts is a dream on its own but to be able to coincide the launch with Earth Day really makes it special,” said Kyle Fiasconaro, co-owner of Brewer’s Foods. “The more people who learn about upcycling and our mission of fighting food waste, the better.”
