OVERLAND PARK, KS — Ahead of its annual NEXUS conference to be held Oct. 1-3 in Washington, DC, BEMA has announced the winners of its Ascend scholarship, Kaleb Ten Haken and Fong Hum.
Lily Cota is a writer, editor and photographer from Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in English and a minor in Photography. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading fantasy novels, thrifting, trying out local coffee shops and spending time with her nieces.
OVERLAND PARK, KS — Ahead of its annual NEXUS conference to be held Oct. 1-3 in Washington, DC, BEMA has announced the winners of its Ascend scholarship, Kaleb Ten Haken and Fong Hum.
Both aspiring leaders in the industry, Ten Haken currently serves as account manager for HaF Equipment, and Hum is a project manager for AMF Bakery Systems.
Established in 2022, the BEMA Ascend scholarship engages emerging, high-potential professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential and a strong desire to acquire industry knowledge and continue their professional development.
Both recipients will be given the opportunity to attend NEXUS, the networking and educational event powered by BEMA and the American Bakers Association.
Recipients for the scholarship were required to meet all of the following criteria:
At NEXUS, Tan Haken and Hum will be offered first-hand experience in business interactions, gaining valuable insight into industry trends and networking with key stakeholders.
