HORSHAM, PA — Arnold Bread, a Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) brand, has launched North America’s first bread bag made from 30% post-consumer recycled content.
“A commitment to sustainability is baked into everything we do, and it is a company principle to nourish a better world,” said Allan Hoffman, director of marketing for premium bread at BBU. “Our brand is constantly looking for ways to make a positive environmental impression on our consumers and the communities that we serve. We’re proud that our new PCR bread bags are the first of their kind in North America and look forward to continuing to identify new opportunities for sustainable impact.”
Featured across the organic line of Arnold Bread, the polyethylene bags are produced from FDA-compliant PCR resins and highlight how the brand is fostering change in the commercial baking industry.
Additionally, the bags are certified and independently verified by SCS Global Services and offer added benefits such as reducing fossil fuel use and a lower carbon footprint compared to previous bags.
This continues BBU’s sustainability initiatives.
