HORSHAM, PA — It’s been a big year for Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU), and the baking company took a moment to reflect on its achievements and overall impact as defined across its three pillars: Baked for You, Baked for Life and Baked for Nature.
“In 2025, Bimbo Bakeries USA made major strides in nutrition, community impact and sustainability,” the company said via press release. “The work we’ve done this year lays the groundwork as we continue Nourishing a Better World.”
Under the Baked for You category, BBU detailed several of the efforts made to strengthen its diverse portfolio of offerings, including the removal of Red No. 3 and commitment to removing all artificial colors from its products by 2026. To date, all BBU breads, rolls, buns and breakfast items do not use artificial ingredients or colors. Throughout the year, the company also unveiled several new breakfast offerings aligned with consumers’ health interests, including Thomas’ High Protein Bagels, Sourdough Bagels and Sourdough English Muffins.
BBU supported its Baked for Life pillar with an array of philanthropic efforts. From donating nearly 25 million pounds of products to food banks through its partnership with Feeding America to the continuation of its Good Neighbor program, the commercial baking company gave back to communities across the country. More specifically, the organization partnered with nine key non-profit organizations, including:
- Children’s Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia
- Mexican Cultural Center
- Qualitas of Life
- Philabundance
- Special Olympics
- Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator
- 100 Black Men of the Bay Area
- Hispanic Organization Promoting Education
- Girls Inc.
In terms of sustainability, BBU was recognized by several entities for its commitment to reducing environmental impact. The baking company received the American Bakers Association’s Champions for a Better Tomorrow Award, honoring its work for carbon reduction initiatives, and eighteen of its bakeries earned ENERGY STAR certification from the Environmental Protection Agency.
