FRANKFORT, KY — A ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 14 marked the next growth milestone for Bakery Express Midwest, a subsidiary of baked goods manufacturer Bakery Express.

Leadership from the baking company and government officials, including Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, celebrated the grand opening of Bakery Express Midwest’s new Covington, KY, commercial bakery.

“I want to congratulate Bakery Express Midwest on this significant milestone in Boone County,” Beshear said. “This new operation builds on the economic momentum we have been seeing across the commonwealth. I want to thank the company’s leadership for allowing me to join them in cutting the ribbon on the new facility, and I look forward to seeing Bakery Express Midwest thrive here in their new Kentucky home.”

The baking company made a $20 million investment in the 50,000-square-foot facility, bringing more than 225 full-time jobs to Boone County. This bakery will supply fresh-baked goods such as cookies, sweet goods, donuts, pretzels and Danish across Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee.
