LOS ANGELES — Otis Spunkmeyer, a sweet baked goods provider in the foodservice and retail in-store bakery sectors, announced that work has been completed to remove all FD&C colors from its portfolio. This means that 100% of Otis Spunkmeyer-branded foods produced after Jan. 1 and sold in the US are free from artificial food-grade dyes.
The Aspire Bakeries brand holds the No. 1 market share in foodservice cookies and muffins, having held this position for more than five years. Previously, a small number of Otis Spunkmeyer recipes contained FD&C colors but were reformulated to remove them.
Otis Spunkmeyer is one of many brands participating in the American Bakers Association’s (ABA) “Baked Goods in Schools Pledge,” a voluntary commitment by ABA member companies to eliminate the use of FD&C colors in all baked goods provided to K-12 schools through the National School Breakfast, Lunch and Competitive Food Programs by the beginning of the 2026-27 school year.
Looking ahead, Otis Spunkmeyer remains committed to innovation aligned with modern consumer needs and the evolving food landscape.
