INDIANAPOLIS — For new members of the baking industry, finding the right groove can be challenging. Joining associations helps young professionals overcome these hurdles and forge their own path, building connections with those who were once industry novices themselves.
The American Society of Baking (ASB) launched its New Member Scholarship Fund, a brand-new initiative designed to welcome emerging professionals into the ASB community. Through this scholarship fund, the association is furthering its commitment to lowering barriers and expanding access to its connections, education and resources.
“We are bringing the baking community together,” said Kristen L. Spriggs, executive director of ASB. “If you haven’t taken a look at what ASB is doing — or even if you feel you’re super familiar — you might be surprised by all the ways we’re connecting the industry.”
To be eligible, applicants must work in the commercial or high-volume retail baking sector and hold operational roles such as production supervisor, R&D technologist, lab technician, engineer or quality control lead.
