MONTREAL — An exclusive negotiation has been struck between Lallemand and InVivo Group subsidiary Moulins Soufflet for the proposed acquisition of two companies.

The deal would expand Lallemand’s portfolio to include AIT Ingredients, a producer of ingredients for bakery and flour milling applications, and Solyve, a specialist producer of GMO-free and organic enzyme solutions such as sourdough starters.

“With the presence of AIT Ingredients in France, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, APAC and Africa, and Solyve in France, these proposed acquisitions will reinforce our presence and increase our global footprint and production capacity and better enable us to meet the requirements of our existing and new customers across the baking, flour milling, oenology and other beverages sectors,” said Antoine Chagnon, CEO of Lallemand.

Thierry Blandinieres, CEO of InVivo Group, noted the sale will support the company’s strategic plan, which includes refocusing wheat, barley and other field crops.

“With its unique expertise in research and microorganisms, Lallemand will bring the vision and expertise necessary to successfully take over and grow both AIT Ingredients and Solyve,” Blandinieres said. “Lallemand is committed to this and has the investment capacity to make it happen.”
