ORLANDO, FL — The American Bakers Association (ABA) presented the inaugural Champions for a Better Tomorrow Award during its 2025 Convention in Orlando, FL.

“The Champions for a Better Tomorrow Awards are a way of shining a light on these community initiatives, ensuring that the positive contributions that the baking industry has been quietly doing for years with no expectation of recognition are now celebrated,” said Bill Quigg, 2024-26 ABA board chair. “This focus on bettering the communities we serve is what makes our industry so special and united. We’re always striving to deliver safe and delicious food to our fellow Americans’ tables, while also bettering the communities we operate in.”

The awards honor the efforts of member companies’ impact in three key areas:

  • Planet: Acknowledges initiatives focused on environmental sustainability and stewardship.
  • Workplace: Celebrates programs that enhance employment, employee development, company culture and overall development.
  • Community: Honors companies who’ve made significant contributions to local communities through charitable efforts, volunteerism or social impact projects.

Each category has two member recipients, one baker and one allied.

“This underscores the collaborative spirit of our industry, where every contribution, whether from a baker or an allied member, plays a critical role in our collective success as an industry,” said Eric Dell, president and CEO of ABA. “As we present these awards, we hope to inspire others to continue positively impacting the planet, workplace and community.”
