FALL RIVER, MA — Gold Medal Bakery has announced the promotion of several staff members as the company transitions to its fourth generation of family ownership throughout its 110 years in business.
The first of many promotions was awarded to Brian LeComte, who has been named president and COO. He began his career at Gold Medal in as assistant controller, and then moved up in the leadership ranks by assuming the role of treasurer. He has served as senior VP since 2018.
Carl Culotta, who has been working with the bakery since 1997, has been named executive VP and chief revenue officer. He has held various leadership positions throughout the years including regional sales manager, key account manager, director of sales, and VP of sales and marketing. As executive VP, he will oversee the sales, purchasing/cross-doc and logistics functions at the company. The company says that this promotion recognizes Culotta’s unrelenting focus on the customers’ needs and commitment to the success of the organization.
John Ferreira has been named senior VP of manufacturing. He has worked at Gold Medal Bakery since 1979 in various leadership roles including production manager, wrapping manager, plant manager and most recently plant operations manager. In his new role, he will oversee manufacturing operations, quality control and product development. Gold Medal commended him for maintaining the consistency and culture of the company’s manufacturing operation, allowing it to continuously provide value to its customers.
Justin LeComte is now the VP of sales and marketing after an extensive career at the company including positions as a sales representative, account manager and most recently director of sales.
Matt LeComte has also been named VP of manufacturing. He has worked at Gold Medal Bakery in all aspects of production since 2006, most recently as production manager.
